The Philippines is so full of places known for its natural beauty. Because the country is an archipelago, every island, from the smallest to the largest, has something to offer to the traveler.
We made a bucket list of places that one must not miss while in the country.
Batanes Island
The place is like a Marlboro country commercial with its own version of cowboys and vast pasture lands for horses, goats and cows. Visit Racuh Apayaman and take images of this wonderful place. A hike up to Mt. Iraya would offer a magnificent view of the area. Batanes is most of the time along the path way of storms thus people built stone houses. You can check this out at the villages of Chavayan and Savidug.
Samal Island, Davao del Norte
When you happen to include Davao City as part of your itinerary, take a short boat ride and go to the island of Samal. Apart from the world-class resorts that have sprouted on the island, visit the Hagimit Falls for a cool and refreshing dip in its waters. Go scuba diving in Talisud Island or the Mansud Wall. Catch a glimpse of the Vanishing Island which can only be seen during low tide.
Camotes Island, Cebu
Camotes Island is unlike Boracay or Palawan beaches that are steaming with people. When you want an undisturbed swim or even sunbathing then this is the place for you. Go to Santiago Bay or Mangodlong to enjoy the shimmering blue-green waters. If you are on a honeymoon then Lake Danao should be part of your itinerary. It is a 700 hectare lake located in Pacjian and is fondly called “Lover’s Lake” due to its remote location. The lake is considered to be the largest lake in the island of Cebu.
Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur
Hinatuan is known for the Enchanted River with its blue and emerald waters. The place offer activities like diving, swimming, hiking and surfing. An outdoor type of visitor would find this place not only enchanting but also challenging and worthy of exploring.
Alaminos, Pangasinan
Perhaps there is nowhere in the world that one can come across so many islands in one location. Found in Alaminos, Pangasinan, the Hundred Islands is ideal for island hopping and swimming. Check out the Governor’s island for its clear water and wonderful scenery. Do some snorkeling in the warm waters of any island and watch the rich marine life underneath.
